My go to paleo banana bread, made with NO sugar (nope, not even maple syrup) and sweetened naturally with bananas. You’re going to be making this again and again!
One of my strengths in the kitchen is my ability to let bananas sit so long they turn brown! Yep, that one is a true talent. Ok, seriously. I do buy a bunch of bananas each week and LOVE to see them turn brown. I use my overripe bananas mostly for baking but also freeze them for smoothies or nice-cream!
Paleo banana bread is one of those staple, could make it every week type of things. I like to enjoy it as breakfast, snacks, pre-workout fuel, or even dessert. This recipe is so versatile I promise you’ll fly through your fist loaf in no time!
Ingredients
This recipe is made with better-for-you ingredients which really amp up the nutrients and decrease the sugar rush.
- eggs
- banana
- vanilla
- almond flour
- ground flaxseed
- baking powder
- baking soda
- chocolate chips. I like to use these from Whole Foods or you can grab these at most grocery stores.
How to make Paleo Banana Bread
- Crack eggs into your mixing bowl.
- Mash bananas and add to the eggs. I like to lay my bananas flat on a plate or cutting board to mash them really well!
- Add in vanilla and whisk/stir together.
- Add in all dry ingredients: almond flour, flaxseed, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Combine well.
- Option to add some chocolate chips into your mixture now if desired!
- If your batter looks too thick add 1-2 TBSP almond milk
- Line loaf pan/tin with parchment paper and pour banana bread mixture in. (Could use a silicone loaf pan like this to avoid parchment paper.)
- Top with chocolate chips.
- Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes. Check at 45 as baking times can vary on your oven and depth of loaf pan.
Tips to make this paleo banana bread sweeter!
Hello to all my sweet tooth friends! I hear ya, sometimes you want some added sweetness. Since this recipe does not include added sugar, feel free to serve your slice with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup. You could also add 4-5 drops liquid stevia to your raw batter. Be careful as liquid stevia is strong.
